Attending: Francis Kwakwa, Valerie Smothers, Chitra Oka, Reshma Carter, Peter Greene, Tao Le
Agenda Items
1. Review minutes of last meeting
The minutes were approved.
2. Review progress on action items
Valerie commented that she had contacted the ACCME to see if they had any red flags on the specification but had not received a reply. Linda commented that they have had several opportunities to comment. Francis added that even after submission to the Standards Committee, they would have the opportunity to comment as part of the public review. Tao added that another challenge of the specification is that it is below the radar of many. It is a challenge to get it piloted. Last time we discussed if Andy Rabin could pilot. Valerie replied that Linda's group had used the specification to communicate data to CME providers.
Francis agreed that we still don't have a rush to pilot. Tao added that there's not a great need to communicate with other providers. If a hub makes it regulatory requirement to send data, that changes things dramatically. There is no mandated requirement currently.
Francis review the standards development process flowchart. The chart shows that there will be ample time for review and comment. Valerie added that the Standards Committee review will be extended due to her upcoming leave.
3. Discuss submission to the Standards Committee for review prior to balloting
The group agreed to submit the specification to the Standards Committee in early January.
4. Open discussion
The group discussed promoting the specification at the Alliance meeting. The group agreed that Linda is our best contact at the Alliance, and she should be at the meeting.
Francis added that we decided that we will not meet while Valerie is out on leave since the spec will be out for review. If necessary, we could have a meeting and include Nancy Davis, who will be helping out. But it would help to have Valerie on calls to discuss comments.
Decisions
The group agreed to submit the specification to the Standards Committee in early January.
