Dan provided some feedback regarding the note. Valerie incorporated the feedback and agreed to send the note to Rachel.

Continue REST Guidelines review

Valerie explained that she wanted to ensure proper attribution and permissions given that so much of the  document is based on the work of an IVBM employee not on the committee. Dan commented that in the past lawyers had recommended putting a statement in the document regarding what is necessary for proper attribution. Valerie commented that there are some statements required by the license on page 4.

Dan asked Valerie how the matter would be handled if the document were a specification being sent to ANSI. Valerie commented that the MedBiquitous member agreement spells out that members are donating their intellectual property to MedBiquitous so that it can be made available under a ver open license. We have not had any instances of UIP that was not contributed.

Joel commented that we could acknowledge someone that is not a member of the committee. IBM is not a member of MedBiquitous, but they have a relationship with MedBiquitous. IBM contributes to a lot of standards body documents. Michael Gilfix is the primary author of the submitted document. He thought ibm copyright would not be necessary. Valerie agreed to add something to the acknowledgements. Joel offered to double check on the copyright issue.

The group went through the document. Valerie made changes in the guidelines as they went along. She suggested asking Carl for help in constructing a navigability example for section 10. The group agreed that was a good idea. She offered to distribute it to the AOA abd a few others for initial feedback before publishing.

Joel commented that the topic is not too controversial - it's a matter of what else would be helpful. He recommended completing the document and getting it out there.
